My Activities are not syncing between the app and the site, what's up with that?
Syncing is done manually from the TallyZoo iPhone app. Under the sync tab there is a button, Sync Now.
Why do my graphs say Public and what does this mean?
By default when you create an Activity it is public. This means that it is searchable, and viewable in the Community feed, and other public areas of the site. The page and everything on it, including the comments are viewable by anyone.
How do I know what Graphs are Public and what does this mean?
From the Activity screen you will see a badge in the upper-right hand corner that says Public. Also, in the My Activities list you can click on the Show Privacy Settings Checkbox.
Can I make my Activities Private?
Yes. Click Edit to change the privacy settings for each Activity.
If I don’t have an iPhone or iPod touch can I use TallyZoo?
Yes. In fact, many of our users are using the site without the app.
How do I change the color or type of a graph?
From the Activity Page click Edit. All of the chart customization settings are there.
How do I make bar charts, pie charts with two or more activities?
Create a new Activity. In the edit screen choose Combo. Now you can add previously created activities. Here.
How do I view the same data in different ways?
Create a new Activity. In the edit screen choose Combo. Instead of adding multiple sub-activities, just choose one. You can choose the display options. In this way, you could create one activity and view it in many different ways.
How do I delete my account on the website?
On the profile page there is a link for delete data. This is permanent and cannot be reve
How do I download my data?
Login to TallyZoo.com and click on your Profile. The button Download Data will create a csv file of all of your data.
What are the differences between the Free and the Premium version?
Premium version gives you unlimited activities, unlimited screens, geo-tagging, as well as privacy options. Users of the free version can have up to nine activities, on one screen, and if synced to the website will be part of the community data (public). A complete list can be found here.
What happens is Activity is public?
If you have a TallyZoo web account then the activity will be publically viewable.
How do I make an Activity private?
Click Edit. When they are wiggling around, click the button you want to change. In the Advanced section change Public to OFF.
How do I undo a count?
Shake the iphone. Then click Undo Count. You can also edit the data manually from the phone or from the site.
What’s the difference between Clicking and Click-and-Hold?
Click does a single count. Click and hold brings up a screen to change the amount, date, or add a note. There is more info about it here: how to change button behavior with the TallyZoo iphone app.
How do I change the color of an Activity?
Click Edit. When they are wiggling around, click the button you want to change. You will see an option to change the color.
Can I move the buttons around?
Yes. Click Edit, and the buttons will wiggle. Hold your finger on a button until it grows. Then you can move it around.
Do I need a TallyZoo website account?
No. But you really should. It is free. You get tons of different types of graphs, can share them with your friends.
